Raised £35,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity

What a fantastic event this year – another great success for the The Early, Early Christmas Fair, once again raising significant funds for ABF – The Soldiers’ Charity.  The event raised £35,000 which will make such a huge difference to our service men, women and their families and the Charity is so grateful to the support that this event receives every year. The atmosphere was buzzing, with over 2000 keen shoppers in a beautiful setting and  despite the weather people kept coming!

Caroline Cary, the Fair Organiser said:  “I would just like to say thank you to everyone who came and supported this event – to our dedicated volunteers, all the shoppers, stallholders, our two wonderful Chelsea Pensioners and to everyone involved without whom this could never achieve the success it currently enjoys.  In particular, I would like to thank our long term sponsors, General Dynamics and Aspire Defence, whose notable generosity make it all possible.”

This year marked a particularly distinctive one for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. As a third of our military work and serve our country from their bases in Wiltshire, there is no better place to stage an event to help raise money for The Soldiers’ Charity. The Early, Early Christmas Fair has for many years been an established ‘must’ on the county’s social calendar, but this year is a special one and this anniversary-linked fair aimed to recognise the achievements of the past 75 years by raising a record sum for the charity. This is about the difference the charity has made over the years, but equally about the difference it will make. The British Army remains engaged in many countries around the world and while there is a British Army, there will be The Soldiers’ Charity. The need for support goes on.

Remember to put next year’s event in your diary. It’s always the last Tuesday and Wednesday in September and in 2020 that will be Tuesday 29th and Wendesday 30th. This is one of the biggest single fundraising event nationally for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and your support is invaluable.
