Get your festive shopping started early with an online retail extravaganza which is supporting ABF The Soldiers’ Charity
Early birds hoping to get their Christmas shopping underway can take advantage of the ABF’s Early, Early Christmas Virtual Fair this month.
The fair has been a very successful annual event in aid of The Soldiers’ Charity for the past 28 years but this year, due to Covid-19, organisers are doing it differently.
This year is not just about the charity but also about looking after the small, hard- working businesses that are the key enablers of the event and all its supporters.
From the comfort of your own home, you can take advantage of a ten-day exclusive, online shopping extravaganza from Monday, September 21 to Thursday, October 1.
The event’s loyal stallholders have all come together and offered discounts, many of which include free delivery, plus 10 per cent off everything you buy is being donated to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
Executive fundraiser Caroline Cary says: “You will find wonderful small businesses online, with fabulous, inspiring gifts and treats, including delicious food items, fashion, personalised stationery, books, beauty products, pictures, stocking fillers, beautiful things for your home and garden, gifts for men, women, children and babies.
“You can also join a Virtual Pinkster Gin tasting evening with more than 200 virtual parties taking place. Pull up a chair and grab some glasses as ginmeister Stephen (founder of Pinkster Gin) teases your senses and tickles your taste buds.” The Virtual Gin Tasting Event takes place at 7pm on September 25, and Caroline says you should be sure to order a home gin tasting kit for two beforehand.
Other attractions you can order at the virtual fair are a personally signed book from Colin Thackery, the 89-year-old Chelsea Pensioner and winner of the 2019 Britain’s Got Talent or sign up for your own virtual valuation with one of the country’s most experienced valuers, Marc Allum, from BBC’s The Antiques Roadshow.

You can also enter an online raffle with a chance to win more than £2,000 of beautiful prizes, including cash prizes worth £500 and more, all kindly donated by the sponsors General Dynamics UK Ltd, Aspire Defence Ltd and Aspire Defence Services Ltd.
